Zetrisil® Represents A Paradigm Shift In Pathogen Protection
What is Zetrisil®?
Zetrisil® is a proprietary combination of several biocides that can be used to reduce microbial populations on skin, tissue, porous and non-porous surfaces, and in open spaces with an aerosol. As a topical antiseptic and hand sanitizer, the product is profoundly effective on the skin or within a wound surface. In fact, accelerated wound healing is achieved with use. As a disinfectant, the products provide immediately effective and residual, long duration benefits on all surfaces.
What Are The Advantages?
Zetrisil® offers higher kill rates, quicker killing times, longer duration kill and zero dwell time requirements versus traditional chemical-kill based technologies. It has the same toxicity rating of sugar and tap water. It is in-flight eligible, having passed the Boeing D6-7127 Revision P Compatibility Tests. For a chemical disinfectant to be compatible and selected for use on a commercial transport aircraft, it must not impact any flammability properties, parts or component performance, or the aesthetics of the aircraft even with the repeated use of the selected disinfectant. Incompatibility between materials and disinfectants is defined as any type of material degradation – whether it be performance, mechanical, or visual – as a result of repeated, frequent exposure of the material to a disinfectant. So you can be confident that Zetrisil® will not fade fabrics, degrade adhesives or affect electronics. It can be electrostatically sprayed in the cockpit of aircraft.
What is Zeta Potential?
Zeta Potential is the analysis technique for determining the surface charge of nanoparticles in a solution (colloids). Nanoparticles have a surface charge measured in millivolts that attracts a thin layer of ions of opposite charge to the nanoparticle surface.
Why is Zeta Potential important for Disinfectants & Sanitizer?
The greater the positive charge disinfectants or sanitizing solutions have, the greater killing effect against negatively charged bacteria and virus, by way of opposite pole magnetic attraction.
How does Zeta Potential improve the efficacy of Disinfectants & Sanitizers?
The majority of bacteria and viruses are negatively charged nanoparticles. With a positively charged disinfectant & or sanitizer they will be attracted to each other and agglomerate the negatively charged bacteria or virus particles around the positively charged disinfectant or sanitizer solution, thereby improving the kill time and efficacy rate per volume of liquid, disinfectant or sanitizer.
Can Zeta potential kill bacteria and virus’s magnetically?
Yes. By way of changing the magnetic charge around the bacteria or virus cell, it can damage the cell wall membrane causing osmosis imbalance to the bacteria or virus, causing the cell wall to rupture, lyse and explode.
